Bill Hatten, Dillon Hatten, Mark Zeitler, Three Year Old Limited Open Western Pleasure

It was a performance full of ‘heart’ for Ur Heart Or Mine and Mark Zeitler in the Three Year Old Limited Open Western Pleasure Futurity at The Pre-Madness on Sunday. At just their second show together, the duo has proven to be consistent not only with their performances but in their placings, winning the Three Year Old Limited Open Western Pleasure Futurity and $873 for owner Aubrey Jacobs.

Ur Heart Or Mine, Mark Zeitler

“We bought this horse last June from the Hatten family in Iowa (Bill and Dillon Hatten are pictured with Mark above),” Mark explained. “They had raised him and he’s by Heartstoppin and out of one of their mares. In fact, the top three horses in the class today came from their program. We held him back to be able to show him during his three year old year this year. He’s a nice horse. He is super easy, and a nice horse to be around.”

When asked what he thought the judges liked about his horse, Mark said “he’s one of those horses that’s got real balance in his movement and a ton of flow, that makes him really stand out. He’s also flashy, a bay with two offset white feet and a white blaze. We call him Elway.”

Mark and the gelding saw success winning the Maiden Intermediate and Limited Open Three Year Old & Over Western Pleasure and placed third in the Open division of the class, as well as winning the Three Year Old Limited Open Western Pleasure at the Orange Blossom Classic/A Sudden Impulse circuit in Ocala, Florida. The Madness is just the second show for Elway.

Aubrey has already seen success with Elway, winning the Intermediate and Limited Non-Pro Three Year Old Western Pleasure Futurity and earning the reserve champion spot in the Non-Pro Three Year Old Western Pleasure Futurity at the Orange Blossom/A Sudden Impulse circuit.

“Elway has a really great mind to work with a Non-Pro, and Aubrey really likes him,” Mark said. “She will continue to show him in the Three Year Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure events.

Congratulations to Elway and his team, and continued success!
